new running term: nostalgia training

Today I coined a new running term: nostalgia training. If you need to get in a good long run and have been having trouble getting motivated, simply fly back to your childhood home and do it there. You will be so interested to rediscover old haunts and remember what you did where and when that you'll forget all about the distance and keep adding on more! Today I did "Regan Road" (okay, plus 16) which always seemed like a huge feat. I still remember the few people years ago who used to run that far through Potsdam and I thought they were nuts.

Nostalgia training, try it!

Run the "lap" we used to drive!

FUN! I am totally looking forward to a couple of long runs up there; mostly because of the difference in temperature...

I did the "lap" (twice) the last time I ran up there!

Oh fun! Think I'm still a little burned out by Reagan Road though. Too bad we couldn't have synched up. Hope you had a good time at home!

How funny...I hung out with the Londravilles at Chelsea's wedding this weekend and we were telling Kyle how they lived so FAR out of town on Reagan Rd, and that it did used to seem like a huge feat to run there.

I think I need a refresher on the lap! Someone remind me. Darn, June! I was there til this morning, I just boycotted phone and email the entire time. Nice to visit, but things sure have changed there, eh girls?

The lap? It was nothing set in stone, but included a drive-by past any and all crushes, torments, etc. I can think of some nights when it was super long.

Usually, "It's Raining Men" was blaring from the (usually Elissa's) car.

Oh yeah, and one of more of us was usually sun-roofin'.
